Hello, and welcome to Scanning Pens.

We are proud to be the exclusive supplier of award-winning assistive technology tools, including the ReaderPen and the ExamReader.

Our story is simple: we were created to empower people of all ages, backgrounds and learning abilities with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom – and in the real world.  We’re on a mission. A mission to raise global awareness of dyslexia and other learning disabilities, change the narrative, and create a neurodiversity-positive future.

With offices in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, India and Australia, we want to increase the confidence and independence of learners around the world with our award-winning text-to-speech scanning devices and take the anxiety out of reading for people with literacy differences everywhere.

The ReaderPen is a major technological breakthrough for anyone with a learning disability, a reluctant reader or somebody who is learning a new language. The built-in dictionary puts the power of audio feedback, dedicated vocabulary and comfortable, independent learning at the fingertips of the user in a handy and portable form that fits pretty neatly in the average pencilcase. Boasting additional features, such as scan-to-file function, voice recorder and music player, the possibilities are endless with the ReaderPen - and it’s making all the difference for people all over the world.

The ExamReader, also-known-as ‘the miracle pen’, was created to increase the confidence of students during exams. Besides, stress headaches, dancing words and swimming letters are no picnic at the best of times – let alone in a pressured-filled exam hall. Since JCQ’s regulations update in 2016/17, the ExamReader is allowed to be used in UK exams, as long as it has been used ‘as a normal way or working’ for the student beforehand - which might just be the confidence boost a student needs to go in there and really show the examiner what they can do.

We’re Scanning Pens, and we want to be part of creating a future where learning is accessible for everybody.
